| Description: Hank Gowdy New York Giants game worn home pants c. 1923-25. Pair of blue pinstriped pants retaining orig. Spalding label inside waist and "Gowdy" chain stitched in faded red. Pants show good usage wear incl. soiling and some small hole repairs around the knee areas (Gowdy was a catcher). Gowdy was a very fine Major League player for 17 seasons including three World Series, rare piece of game worn clothing from an early name player. Includes vintage photo of Gowdy in uniform, letter of provenance from Joel Platt stating that pants were obtained from Gowdy family, and LOA from David Bushing/Dan Knoll: EX |
