| Description: Alexander Joy Cartwright handwritten letter. Dated December 21, 1865 letter written to his brother Benjamin in New York, the offered letter is a copy of the original which was mailed to Benjamin Cartwright with one of the two pages having been copied onto Benjamin's own business stationary. Content relates to the Cartwright's father's estate granting Benjamin approval to "act for me" regarding Alexander's interests.
