| Description: George Connor Holy Cross game worn football jersey c.1943. Cream color Durene style jersey with blue #53 on front and back. Retains orig. Horace Partridge & Co., Boston tag inside tail flap. The "3" in the number "53" on front and back was a period team issued number change as Connor wore #18 and then in 1943 is listed as #53. Connor was a three time All-American first at Holy Cross in 1943 before going into the NFL and developing into the premier linebacker in the league. Jersey shows good usage and wash wear including a few repaired holes and is signed by Connor on front. Includes letter of provenance from Connor, LOA from David Bushing/Dan Knoll/Lou Lampson, and copy of program listing Connor as #53: EX |
