Lot 557

Description: Rare 1915 Cracker Jack baseball card complete set. Desirable (176) card complete set as collected by a young man attending a fair in which he found all of the offered cards laying on the ground. The cards had been carefully attached into a period scrapbook and later removed which has left residue on the scrapbook paper and adhesive on the backs of the cards. This appears to be easily reversible through a conservator as the card backs remain nicely intact under the residue. Grades listed for key cards DO NOT include backs in order to give bidders an idea of grading once they have been cleaned. Key cards grade as follows: Baker #2: VG, Tinker #3: VG-EX, Plank #6: VG, Collins #7: GD, Mack #12: GD-VG, Evers #18: VG-EX, Bender #19: EX, Comiskey #23: VG, Cobb #30 (trimmed): GD, Alexander #37: GD-VG, Marquard #43: GD-VG, Wheat #52: VG, Johnson #57: VG, Speaker #65: VG-EX, Lajoie #66: EX, Wagner #68: VG, McGraw #69: VG, Jennings #77: VG-EX, Mathewson #88: VG, Jackson #103: VG-EX, Maranville #136: GD-VG. Balance of set grades between GD-EX (without regard to backs). Excellent opportunity to acquire a period assembled set coveted by many as being among the most desired issue of its' type. Please call for more condition details or conservator referral: Range GD-EX (Not including backs)
