Significant Babe Ruth original photograph by Nat Fein c.1948. Striking image of Babe Ruth holding his cap at his side and leaning on a bat for support ranking among the most famous images in baseball history. The image was captured on June 13,1948 when Ruth attended a celebration to mark the 25th anniversary of his house, Yankee Stadium. Babe was extremely frail at this point as the ravages of throat cancer consumed his body and was helped into uniform and onto the field. The offered example was obtained by former NY Yankee employee Danny Menendez from Nat Fein in 1948 who was working for the New York Herald.
