See a Picture of this Item 143 Rare Robert Simpson & Son Golf Club Makers trade sign c.1900-1930's. Significant hand painted tin trade sign housed in a period painted wooden scroll top frame having two columnar appointments on either side. Overall size is 40"x42" with hand painted titling on both front and back. Paint is of the period and has been painted over top of an earlier version of the same most likely by the Simpson Co. itself due to weather damage. Retains excellent original, unrestored, surface with some typical light flaking to the paint in some areas. Robert Simpson was a famed manufacturer of golf clubs from the 1890's through the 1920's and is most noted for his ball faced irons which command a huge premium in the collecting world today.
