Offered is Schmidt's 1980 complete uniform to consist of a pinstriped white knit shirt having its original "P" and #20 on front. Schmidt nameplate and #20 also remain intact on the back. Grey flannel shirt from the Twins first World Series season retains original Twins team name across chest and #3 on reverse. "Killebrew" chain stitched on strip tag inside collar, Spalding tag w/size 44 flag tag is on tail front along with "Killebrew 3 44 65" chain stitched into the tail. Jersey also retains its original Twins logo patch on left sleeve. The jersey originated from a player who had received it while playing in the Minor Leagues. At that point the original number three was moved to the right and a "4" was added to make #43. The "4" has since been removed and the original #3 was relocated back to its original position. After eleven tough seasons with the Senators and Twins (as a team) Killebrew led the Twins into the World Series for the first time in 1965. Fine example which has not been previously offered for sale. See a Picture of this Item 1246 Boston Red Sox road jersey attributed to Joe Cronin c.1938-41. Grey flannel jersey and pants show light to moderate usage wear incl. some staining. Jersey has taggings removed from collar and retains original "Boston" lettering across the front with #4 on back. Sleeves have been slightly "turned back" and cuffed. Pants have rectangular McAuliffe tag and black rectangular Wilson tag along with chain stitched inseam measurement. Dating is attributed to 1938, 1940, or 1941 as in all other years that Cronin was with the Red Sox there were various sleeve patches and on the offered shirt there are no vestiges of such patches. Obtained by John MacIntyre who was a Boston English High School student. The young man was nicknamed "Big John" and always had to order special oversized uniforms for the baseball team. Cronin learned of this fact and promptly donated one of his uniforms to accommodate the young MacIntyre. The uniform was kept by MacIntyre until his death in 1994 and then willed to Brian Riley whose letter of provenance is included with the lot. L.Slugger 125 model bat measures 35" long and weighs 34 ounces having "SPAHN" block letter stamping on barrel and H117 stamped on knob end. Bat exhibits heavy usage wear while retaining a pleasing honey color surface. End of barrel has some dryness. Bat was given directly to a Braves Field vendor in 1951 as he and Spahn had become friendly during the pregame warm ups and batting practice. Spahn's 363 wins are legendary but he also enjoyed hitting collecting (35) home runs in his career. Very rare and desirable HOF'er player model bat matching Spahn's bat orders for years 1950, 1952, and 1953. Includes detailed and notarized letter of provenance from the original recipient along with a newspaper photo of the boy in vendor's outfit. Just above the thumb loop knot remains a faded black "21". Spahn has signed the glove on the interior pinky finger, "Warren Spahn 57 Cy" denoting his Cy Young award for the 1957 season. Spahn may have pitched for a small market team but his career numbers are on par with many of the greatest pitchers in baseball history earning 363 wins, 382 complete games, 63 shutouts, 5243 innings pitched, and 2583 strikeouts.
