Considered to be the pinnacle of team autographed baseball collecting the offered B.Johnson AL ball is moderately toned with a few minor abrasions and is signed by an astounding (36) members of the World Champion 1927 Yankees. Players include Ruth, Gehrig, Lazzeri, Pipgras, Shocker, E.Barrow, Combs, J.Ruppert (rare), M.Huggins (rare), Meusel, Hoyt, Shawkey, and Collins. 633	Lou Gehrig auto. baseman's mitt c.1935. Tan colored buckle back baseman's mitt signed on the back panel, "To My Little Pals at St. John's With Kindest Regards Cordially Lou Gehrig". Salutation range from 3-7 out of 10 due to light and dark areas of the glove as a background, signature remains fairly clean and ligible rating 6/7 out of 10. Glove is also clean overall exhibiting light to moderate usage wear. Gehrig autographed gloves of any type are extraordinarily rare let alone on the very style of glove that he wore during his 17 year career. This is the first auto. 634	Significant Lou Gehrig single signed baseball with relation to record breaking consecutive games played streak. Off white Harridge AL ball with red and blue stitching signed on side panel in faded but legible black ink, "To Pres. Harridge Cordially Lou Gehrig 1308 Aug. 17/33". The salutation and signature range from 1-3 out of 10 but remain legible and were inspected under black light for identification. The ball originated from the Harridge family and is being offered publicly for the first time. On August 17, 1933 Lou Gehrig finally tied the record streak of 1,307 games that Everett Scott had held since 1925. It had become his destiny whether he preferred that path or not due to pressure from fans, peers, and most strongly from the New York media. The following day, Aug. 18, Gehrig would pass Scott en route to his eventual total of 2,130 games played without interuption before his tragic illness ended the streak in 1939. Although light it is fairly clear that the date written in Gehrig's hand on the ball is the 17th not the 18th but it is even more evident that the number "1308" is written to the left of the date. It is certainly possible that Gehrig simply penned the wrong date on the ball as it was most likely a game used baseball from the historic game and as such may have been signed in haste after (or during) the game. Fascinating piece with historical import and rarity as a Gehrig single signed ball let alone the relation to the record. At the time of this catalogue printing we are conducting some further research about which interested bidders may want to inquire. 635	Bill Klem single signed baseball. Very rare single signed ball from the most revered umpire in National League history signed, "W.J. Klem" on side panel of a moderately toned NL ball c.1920's. Baseball shaped foldout invitation to a November 19, 1934 banquet given in honor of the U.S. All-Star team at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. Titling printed on the front cover, interior has names of Amer. Association of Tokyo Officers and the menu for the dinner. Menu page has been signed Mack, Berg, and Ruth in black ink. Endearing one page typed letter from a young admirer sent to Babe Ruth the content of which is worthy of publication in this catalogue: "Dear Babe Ruth: I went to my first ball game yesterday, and wanted to see you bat out a home run so much, but the other pitchers wouldn't let you hit one. I am glad your wrist is better and that you played but I wanted to get your name to my program, and the big cop chased me when I tried to go through the gate in the grandstand. So wont you please either sign this letter or send me one, so I can have your autograph always with me, and oblige a little boy who admires you so much. Respectfully, Manfred Berliner". The letter was successfull and has been signed in bold black ink at bottom, "Babe Ruth June 12, 1934" rating 9-10 out of 10.
