Description: Very rare 1888 John A. Andrews “Boston Club Cigar” advertising trade card. Published and printed by Hastings,Boston after the print of the same content the offered trade card features ad for the cigar department of the Andrews Retail store in Boston and more specifically the “Boston Base Ball Club 5’s and 10’s cigars”. This example measures 6 1/4”x9” and has had itsÕ borders trimmed as the known example of this card measures 6 7/8”x9 7/8” with Andrews name and “Boston Club Cigar” printed on border. Except for light soiling on the back and the forementioned sizing this piece is free from wear with excellent contrast and surface. We only know of one other example to exist and it was previously offered in 1991 at the Copeland Auction with a substantial estimate, very rare and desirable 19th century Boston, tobacco, and paper related baseball piece: EX (With note to sizing)
