Description: College football "All American Captain's Cup" trophy c.1950 Starting in the 1930s college football All-America teams were selected by a group of (10) NCAA recognized organizations (these being mostly publishers who focused on sports). In addition to naming the best players who would receive the prestigious honor each year, they would select one player as honorary team captain. This is list included many whom are still recognized as having been among the greatest players in collegiate history including a number of former Heisman Trophy winners. Silver plate trophy cup stands 15.5" tall with raised lettering along the top which reads, "All America Captain's Cup Winner." Engraved both below and on the opposite side is a list of former winners spanning 1932-1950 with notables including former Heisman Trophy winners Jay Berwanger, Nile Kinnick, Tom Harmon, Bruce Smith, Les Horvath, Doc Blanchard, and Johnny Lujack. There is mild surface wear to areas throughout and both of the handles have been removed with a small spot of resulting material loss on either side of the top edge.
