Description: Notre Dame sweater issued to football team Captain George Murphy c.1940-42. Rare original heavy wool sweater done in dark blue with gold and white stripe sleeve accents. On the left front chest is an "ND" school logo patch. "Trojan" tag is in the collar and there is a "Capt. G Murphy" embroidered strip tag on the inside front tail. In very fine overall condition with a touch of light natural wear and (1) button has come loose (but is included). Ivy League sweaters of this type are seldom offered with direct player attribution and given its' origins with a former Captain of the famed Notre Dame Fighting Irish it is among the better examples we have handled: EXEstimated Price Range: ($1,500-$2,500)
