Description: 1976 Walter Payton "Willie Galimore Memorial…Veteran Of The Year" award. Figural trophy having a full size football done in metal set atop wooden base with metal placard on the front reading, "New Pittsburgh Courier, 1976 Willie Galimore Memorial Award, NFC Veteran Of The Year, Walter Payton Chicago Bears." Then in his second NFL season, Payton rushed for (1,390) yards and scored (16) touchdowns (a league leading number). He was named the Associated Press and Football Writers of America MVP for his efforts. One of the more visually appealing trophies within this group of material from the Payton Collection with further desirability given its' dating to early in his career.
