Description: Lot of (2) Harry "Farmer" Vaughn cabinet photographs c.1888-89. Pair of sepia toned photographs on original 4.25"x6.5" mounts both show Vaughn and another individual who appears to be the same person. While we hesitate to make a definitive identification it is our strong belief that Vaughn is pictured with John Ewing. The uniformed players are in "Memphis" jerseys and both Vaughn and Ewing were members of that team c.1888. They were both released by Memphis at the same time and subsequently signed with the Louisville Colonels. The piece showing the players in uniform is marked "Gebhardt...Memphis..." and the other is marked "Mrs. L. Condon...Louisville..." Fine overall condition with the Memphis piece showing a touch more wear.
