Description: George L. Kelly professional model baseball bat c.1920s. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with Kelly facsimile signature burned into the barrel measures 36" long and weighs 35.7oz. Strong usage wear is evident throughout with pronounced grain swelling to the reverse barrel secured in placed with several vintage nails/tacks. A handle crack was secured with a ring of tape which has left a toned band mid-handle. Some faint and not discernable side writing is partially visible and what appear to be remnants of period mailing labels (applied when the bat was sent back to Louisville Slugger to be used a model for future orders) are affixed in two places. One of the era's premier defensive position players, Kelly set numerous records throughout the 1920s and in the earlier part of the decade played on a pair of Championship teams.
