Description: Important Athletics vs. Cubs 1910 World Series panoramic photograph by William Rau. Oversized sepia toned photograph offers a sweeping view of Shibe Park taken from a deep outfield vantage during what may have been the Opening Game of the 1910 World Series (only two games were played in Philadelphia). Displayed within a 25"x55" frame (visible area 13.5"x46") there are some minor flaws (mostly surface abrasions) and a touch of discoloration which primarily effect the upper third. Affixed to the back of the frame are the original matting/mount borders which were captioned in the period and include a "William H. Rau...Philadelphia" mark. This same text/mark were carefully hand applied to the new matting when the piece was framed for display.
