Description: Significant Johnny Evers Chicago Cubs professional model road pants c.1909. Pinstriped gray flannel pants have a "Spalding" manufacturers tag in the waist. The name "Evers" is embroidered along the button up fly. Well preserved with evident usage and wash wear along with some natural age related toning/discoloration and some scattered moth holes. Evers is among baseball's most noted early 20th Century players and, alongside fellow Hall of Famers Joe Tinker and Frank Chance, was part of one the game's most potent infield trios. Together they would lead the Cubs to (5) National League pennants and (3) World Series titles. Pre 1920 Major League uniform pieces are of particular scarcity with only a fractional amount having been offered to the collecting public. The offered Johnny Evers Chicago Cubs pants are among the more notable of same and represent a unique collecting opportunity relating to one of the game's great names of the deadball era.
