Lot Number: 100

Description: April 18, 1923 Yankee Stadium Opening Day program. Desirable original program issued for the first game played at Yankee Stadium has been scored neatly in pencil to reflect the game between the Yankees and Red Sox. Programs from this historic game have become exceedingly rare and desirable with this being the first we have offered in some time. Heavy wear includes chipping and small to moderate tears throughout the covers and effecting interior pages. There is one larger tear on the front cover extending from the top to nearly the middle and larger chips and/or missing pieces from both front and back should be visible in the posted images. The bound edge has been heavily reinforced with tape which has toned. Includes a period "New York World" publication page image (dated July 16, 1922) showing the site on which the Stadium was to be constructed (framed to 11.25"x20"): Program FR
