Description: Rare New York Yankees professional model sweater c.1910-20. Grey wool long sleeve sweater with blue accents has an early "NY" logo on the left front chest. In the collar is an "A.G. Spalding" manufacturer's tag and an additional appears inside near the waistline. In fine overall condition with usage wear evident throughout and what may be a small period team repair along the seam on lower left side. In addition, there are a few pulls in the material, a very small hole in one shoulder, and some loss of material at bottom of the blue strip running down the front. Several buttons are most certainly original and a few have been replaced. One of only a handful of Yankees sweaters from the period to have survived and the first we have offered.
