Description: 1910 Alfred Lawson autographed "United States Base Ball League" Brooklyn charter with archive of related material. Interesting group as relates to the upstart League which was founded by Alfred Lawson and was to include (8) teams. While grounds were leased and team charters granted it appears that very few (possibly only one or two) games were ever played. Includes original "United States Base Ball League Association Franchise for Brooklyn" document which has been signed "G H A Lawson" in fountain pen rating 8 out of 10; 5"x7" cabinet mounted photo of Lawson; (3) approx. 8.5"x11" League advertising handbills (identical); and a number of scrapbook pages to which League related publication clippings are affixed along with a business card, sheet of stationary, and advertising handbill. In addition, there are several pieces related to Lawson's earlier "Union Base Ball League" and "Union League Association." Varying degrees of wear throughout.
