Description: Significant 1971 Brooks Robinson Baltimore Orioles World Series home jersey (MEARS "A10"). White knit jersey with "Orioles" team name across the front in scripted logo font has player number "5" below. Number also appears on back along with the name, "Robinson." On the inside tail are the wash instruction and "Rawlings" manufacturer's tags (noting size, "40"). Strong usage and wash wear is evident throughout and it has been signed "Brooks Robinson" in marker rating 7-7/8 out of 10. The jersey comes from the collection of a former Orioles team employee to whom Robinson presented it following the 1971 World Series. It has remained within his collection until this offering. One of the greatest defensive position players in baseball history, Robinson spent his entire (23) year career in Baltimore earning an impressive (16) Gold Glove Awards. The 1964 American League MVP lead Baltimore to their first World Series Championship in 1966 and repeated again in 1970. Although the Orioles would claim another American League title in 1971 they lost to Pittsburgh in the World Series which stretched to (7) games.
