Description: Fine Lefty Grove professional model glove attributed to his 300th win season. Rawlings Ken Keltner model right handed glove displaying considerable usage wear originates from the Grove Family Collection and was the only example that was kept from his playing days. The name "Gove" is interestingly misspelled on the wrist strap. Piece of the webbing has replaced lacings mentioned for accuracy only. An image of Grove taken on March 11, 1941 during Red Sox Spring Training (Corbis #BE050890) appears to show the Hall of Famer wearing what may be this glove or one which is nearly identical. The Keltner model was a top of the line professional quality glove which was produced by Rawlings from 1940 to around 1951 and an accompanying letter of provenance from Grove's grandchildren identifies the offered example as having been worn in 1941 specifically; the season in which he recorded his 300th and final win. An important and well sourced piece from one of the finest pitchers of the 20th Century. Includes letter of provenance and LOA from Hunt Auctions: EX
