Description: Exceptional Joe DiMaggio professional model baseball bat c.1948-49 - Museum quality example from teammate Phil Rizzuto (PSA/DNA "GU 10"). Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with DiMaggio facsimile signature burned into the barrel measures 36" long and weighs 36.3oz. Model number "D29L" has been factory stamped in the knob. Outstanding usage wear is evident throughout with ball and stitch marks visible on the barrel along with some scattered cleat and rack marks. A heavy coat of pine tar remains on the handle; a rare trait which has been observed in images of DiMaggio during the period. An included letter of provenance signed by teammate and fellow Hall of Famer Phil Rizzuto confirms that the bat is from his personal collection. Without reservation we can state that the offered ranks among the finest DiMaggio game bats in private hands and the best that we have handled in our (25) year history.
