Description: 1948 Jerry Coleman New York Yankees home jersey. Pinstriped flannel jersey was issued to Coleman for his rookie season of 1948 with the Yankees. Coleman was a non-roster player in 1948 and played for six seasons with the team until 1957. Since 1960, Coleman has been a broadcaster for several teams, and in 2005, was inducted in to the Baseball Hall of Fame as such. The offered jersey retains "NY" patch on the front, which is believed to be original to the shirt with reinforced/replaced interior stitching. #14 on the back is restored from a #8, which was added after the shirt was sent down to the Minor Leagues. Spalding tagging remains inside the collar with dry clean and size 44 tags also present. "Coleman 48" is chain stitched in blue on the tail front, and "Stahl" is written in black marker, indicating the Minor League player who received the jersey at a later date.
