Description: 1977 New York Yankees World Series ring presented to scout Harry Craft. Original ring was presented to Harry Craft for the 1977 Yankees World Championship. Top of the ring features ""NY"" logo with (19) inset diamonds set in a blue back stone. ""Yankees World Champions"" raised lettering encircles the NY logo. One side panel has ""Craft"" nameplate with Yankees logo and 21st World Championship designation. The other side panel has ""1977"" date with a World Series trophy replica. Interior ring band is impressed with ""Balfour 14K"". Overall condition is very fine with some light general surface wear. As a former player, Harry Craft roamed centerfield for six years with the Cincinnati Reds. He was part of their pennant-winning teams of 1939 and 1940. His best year with the bat, however, was in 1938, when he hit 15 home runs and had 83 RBI's, both the top ten in the league. He went on to play for the Kansas City Blues from 1942 to 1948, missing the 1944-1945 seasons due to military service. After his playing career ended, he became a manager in the New York Yankees minor league system, managing Mickey Mantle in his first years of pro ball. Craft went on to manage several teams in the big leagues including becoming the first manager of the expansion Houston Colt .45s in 1962. He remained in baseball for three more decades, eventually becoming a scout for the Yankees before retiring in 1991. Craft earned this 1977 World Series ring for contributing to the Yankees first World Championship since 1962. The '77 Series will be forever remembered for Reggie Jackson's legendary performance in hitting three home runs in one game. Note: the ring was originally issued to Craft with cz stones which were later upgraded to diamonds. Size 10: EX-MT
