Lot Number: 305

Description: Scarce April 8, 1974 Hank Aaron 715th Home Run full ticket with related materials. At the beginning of the 1974 season, anticipation for the Atlanta Braves' first home game was at a fever pitch. Hank Aaron had already tied the career home run mark of the immortal Babe Ruth during the opening road series for the Braves. On the evening of April 8th in Atlanta, Hank Aaron finally eclipsed Ruth's record hitting number 715 in the fourth inning off of Al Downing. A record crowd of over 53,000 fans were in attendance to witness the event. Offered is an incredibly scarce anomaly in the realm of historic tickets. On April 4, 1974 a Braves fan purchased two tickets to the home opener on April 8th from the Davison's ticket vendor in Atlanta. One of those tickets remained in completely unused original condition as offered within this lot. The full ticket was issued for the Upper Level section and remains in nearly pristine original condition. Included with the ticket is the original Davison's ticket envelope and Davison's ticket receipt from the 4th for $9.00. Also included with the lot is the original game program scored neatly in pencil and (2) Hank Aaron 715 HR souvenir certificates given to attendees of the game. Remarkable rarity with note to the fact that full tickets from this historic game are virtually non-existent: Ticket: NM-MT, Other materials: Range EX-NM
