Description: 25th Infantry "Wreckers" African American Photograph with Negro League affiliations taken at Camp Steven Little, Arizona c.1919. Original candid sepia tone image attributed to members of the famed 25th Infantry "Wreckers" Regiment with having Negro League affiliation. Subject identifications are attributed to: Fred Goliah (Chicago Leland Giants), Thomas Taylor, O.B. Mitchell, and William "Big C" H. Johnson (Hilldale Club/Brooklyn Royal Giants & others). The fragile early image measures 3 1/4"x5 with interior portion remaining nicely preserved. Perimeter areas of the photo have some chipping, tape repaired tears, and creasing. Handwritten identification on the back, "Camp Steven Little, Nogales, Ariz. 1919". African American imagery from this period is extremely scarce with a very limited surviving population.
