Description:Dizzy and Daffy Dean Beech-Nit advertising display c.1934. Striking oversized promotional piece is one of the most sought after issued in the period, prized for its' size (30"x42"), graphics, and notable subjects. The Dean brothers were at the height of their popularity in 1934 having lead the Cardinals to a World Series Championship behind a combined (49) regular season wins. They were highly marketable and signed on to endorse a number of products however it was their collaboration with Beech-Nut Tobacco and Lorillard which produced this spectacular point of sale display. It ranks among the largest baseball themed advertising pieces ever issued and the brothers are shown in uniform standing side by side. Mounted within a tasteful 39"x49.5" display it retains fine eye appeal despite surface wear throughout and there is some chipping/loss at edges. It has likely been cleaned although a good amount of soiling and discoloration is still present. The back has not been examined: FR/GD
