Description: Spectacular early 1920s "Babe Ruth Homer" shoebox - incredible and rare survivor. Original shoe box with exceptional exterior graphics is the only example which we can recall seeing. The lid has "Babe Ruth Homer" titling with a full length illustration filling the middle portion and there is a "Rosenwasser Bros" mark along the bottom. End cap panel bears a "Yours Truly Babe Ruth" facsimile signature beside his printed image. Condition is exemplary with some expected handling and age related wear however there are no major flaws that impede overall display value. A small dent along the lower left edge (when viewing from the end cap panel side) and some wear to the back panel (including a puncture, some other creases/upper surface cracks, and a handwritten) are noted. References in a few New York area newspapers which were published in 1922 relate to the maker (Rosenwasser) promoting their line of "Babe Ruth Home Run Shoes" helping to date the piece. A notably rare survivor and likely the only example which will come to market for many years: Displays EX
