Cased silver medal presented to Willie Mays by the Los Angeles Times for the 1954 National Sports Award. The medal measures 3" in diameter and features an American eagle design on the front. The reverse is inscribed, "Los Angeles Times National Sports Award presented to Willie Mays Baseball 1954". Typically presented within a hinged lid leather folio the offered example is affixed within a vintage lucite stand likely done by Mays for display purposes.
