Description: July 30,1965 Willie Mays autographed baseball with Home Run attribution. Official W.Giles National League baseball which displays evident use including abrasions and soiling to several panels. The ball has been signed in felt tip marker by Willie Mays (1980-90s signature style) across the sweet spot. Found on an adjacent side panel is a period inscription in unknown hand, "24th HR Willie Mays July 30, 1965". The home run was the 477th of Mays career. While the inscription is difficult to discern due to age fading it was definitively corroborated by JSA using the VSC machine under magnification. The offered baseball was the only game used or home run attributed example within the Mays Collection and stands as a highly desirable artifact from one of the great home run hitters in the history of the game.
