Description: 1965 Willie Mays Touchdown Club of Washington D.C. "Clark C. Griffith Memorial Trophy". (NL MVP Season)(Mays Collection Photomatch). Handsome large format award of a prestigious pedigree having been bestowed to Willie Mays by the Touchdown Club of Washington, D.C. Large 12" diameter silverplated bowl is positioned atop of a black Bakelite base with inset silverplated ring decoration. Bowl is engraved "Clark C. Griffith Memorial Trophy For Outstanding Contribution to Baseball 1965". Silver band around the base displays an embossed football shaped insignia for the Touchdown Club with inscription below, "Presented to Willie Mays San Francisco Giants". Overall height is an impressive 11" tall with light general surface wear. Interior of the base reveals its original Balfour metal manufacturer's labeling. The award is accompanied by four original black and white 8"x10" images from the event picturing Mays with other award recipients including the offered award itself.
