Description: 1964 Willie Mays National League Player of the Month award as presented by the Fleer Gum Co. Small walnut wooden shield shaped plaque having applied silver plated placard inscribed to Mays as the National League Player of the Month for April of 1964. The award was presented to Mays by the Fleer Gum Co. who along with Topps were producing baseball cards during the late 1950s into the early 1960s. Floral gilt garniture above with baseball batter emblem on the interior, 9" tall with light surface wear. Very desirable NL season award with additional element of having been presented by one of the legendary baseball card company names in the history of the hobby.
