Description: August 1963 Willie Mays National League Player of the Month award. Silverplated award bowl with lid featuring a large figural batsman finial on top. The award was given to Willie Mays for his exceptional performance in August of 1963 being named as Player of the Month in the National League. Mays obliterated NL pitchers behind statistics that would be unbelievable if it weren't the Say Hey Kid himself. In 28 games played during the month of August, Willie batted .387 with 43 hits, 8 doubles, 3 triples, 8 home runs, 27 RBIs, 24 runs, .444 OBP, and an absurd .730 SLG percentage. Silver placards affixed to the front of the black painted wooden base engraved to Mays with award titling and facsimile signature of NL President Warren Giles. 18" tall with minor surface wear.
