Description:1919 Kenesaw Mountain Landis autographed letter (PSA/DNA NM-MT 8). Typed letter on his official "Judge's Chambers" stationary is dated May 26, 1919 and signed "Kenesaw M. Landis" in fountain pen. The autograph is graded "NM-MT 8" by PSA. It concludes by reading, "I am so snarled up with matters this summer that I cannot take on anything additional." Interestingly Landis would indeed take on a great deal more shortly thereafter being named the first commissioner of baseball in 1920. He was brought on in the midst of the games' greatest scandal when (8) players on the Chicago White Sox conspired to throw the World Series. Horizontal fold and a touch of light toning: PSA/DNA NM-MT 8
