Description: Dale Murphy autographed early 1980s Atlanta Braves professional model helmet. Flapless helmet done in blue has an "A" team logo decal applied to the front. "ABC" mark is impressed on the back and it has been semi-covered over in marker. Size (7 1/4) "American Baseball Cap" label is on the inside as is the original padding which remains intact. Signed "Dale Murphy" on the brim in silver marker rating 8/9 out of 10. Strong use is evident throughout. An included letter of provenance (copy of original which relates to several items) signed by a former member of the B.P. Sports staff (noted Atlanta area memorabilia dealer Bob Pressley) relays the helmet originates from a charity event held in Atlanta to raise funds for Huntington's Disease. Murphy was a regular donor of his time and pieces from his collection and this helmet was obtained at one of those gatherings and it came "directly from Dale Murphy." Presumably related to Murphy's time as a backup catcher for the Braves in the early 1980s. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions and auction LOA from JSA: EXEstimated Price Range: ($750-$1,250)
