Description: June 12, 1968 Hank Aaron 492nd career home run attributed baseball (Don Davidson provenance). Spalding W.Giles Official National League baseball has a handwritten notation on the side panel reading, "Hank Aaron Home Run Ball, June 12, 1968, 11th Of Season Off Briles St. Louis, 3rd Inning." An included 2002 dated letter of provenance is signed by the step daughter of well known long-time Atlanta Braves Traveling Secretary and Public Relations Director Donald Davidson. It relays that "he secured this baseball that Hank Aaron hit for his 492nd career homerun...it has been in his collection of baseball memorabilia...and in my possession until now." Expected soiling and surface wear. The home run was hit during a Braves vs. Cardinals game played in Atlanta and Aaron would record his 500th less than (1) month later.. Pieces of this nature very infrequently surface with direct provenance to so well known a figure as Donaldson: EX
