Description: Bill Walton archive of High School and Youth Athletics Trophies and Awards c.1960-70s. Substantive intact collection of various trophies and awards as given to Bill Walton during the beginning of his athletic career within youth athletics. Total of (14) pieces dating predominantly to Walton's tenure at Helix High School during the late 1960s most of which related to basketball championships or tournament achievements. Includes 1969 Christmas Tournament championship trophy; 1964 Varsity champ trophy; 1969-70 Helix High School Athlete of the Year award; 1968 Fillmore Basketball Tournament medal (All Tournament); 1968 JV Most Valuable player trophy; 1969 Christmas Tournament Player of the Tournament trophy; and two San Diego City Recreation Dept trophies. About one third of the awards specifically have Walton titling rather than generic placards. Various condition grades with a few missing nameplates or small accoutrement pieces. Sizes range from 3" tall to 10" tall.
