Description: 1972 Bill Walton UCLA Bruins Rookie of the Year award (NCAA Championship Season)(NCAA Player of the Year Season). Silverplated figural trophy as presented to Walton for being named the Rookie of the Year for the UCLA Bruins men's basketball team 1971-72 season. Notable award titled on the affixed silver placard "Irv Pohlmeyer Memorial Trophy Rookie of the Year UCLA 1972 Bill Walton" with walnut wooden plinth base supporting a loving cop with player finial. Very fine display quality with small area of restoration to the edge of wooden base and the figural portion of the trophy having been re-plated. Walton's first varsity season was nothing short of spectacular leading UCLA to his first NCAA Championship and being named as the College Player of the Year.
