Interesting one page handwritten letter dated March 5, 1998 sent from Bill Walton to NBA Commissioner David Stern with substantive content regarding the Latrell Sprewell incident. Sprewell drew national attention when he had a serious physical altercation with Golden State Warriors head coach O.J. Carlesimo during practice earning him a significant suspension of 58 games from NBA play. The letter includes poignant compliments from Walton to the Commissioner for his work within the league between the NBA, players, and their fans including his concern for the league coming out of this incident. Signed at the bottom by Walton with uncommon inscriptions including his Hall of Fame induction year.
