Description:Rare Mickey Mantle "Swing T" training set with impossibly scarce comic book insert c.1953. Very rare "Swing T" training set which was endorsed by Mickey Mantle has his name and likeness printed on the box along with a facsimile signature done in his Rookie-era style. The box displays well with some mild toning/spotting throughout and the most notable flaws effecting the flaps on either end (one showing a few tears, the other separated but included). It contains the poles one needed along with a rubber upper portion in which a baseball would sit. Also included is an incredibly rare "Baseball Fundementals" comic book style publication which served as the instruction manual. Mantle is shown throughout explaining the finer points of using the Swing T and other aspects of hitting and baseball. Copyright date of 1953 inside. Comic book shows mild even toning with scattered wear including a few small edge nicks/tears. There are a few vertical folds which surely relate to it having been loosely folded over on itself in order to fit in the box. An immensely rare pairing and the first examples of both the boxed "T" and comic book we can recall offering: GD
