Lot Number: 179

Description: Outstanding 1981-1982 Terry Bradshaw autographed Pittsburgh Steelers professional model game used helmet - MeiGray multi-game photomatch. Maxpro Kineomatic-21 model helmet has a Steelers team logo decal on one side and a yellow accent stripe impregnated into the finish. Player number "12" is on both the front and back in applied white numerals. NOC.SEA and Maxpro logos appear on the lower back and there are proper warning labels inside. Outstanding use is evident throughout and many of the finer points of wear allow for MeiGray to have definitively photomatched it to use in at least (5) games including September 27, 1981 vs. Patriots - (15) of (30) pass attempts completed for (247) yards and (2) touchdowns; October 11, 1981 vs. Browns - (19) of (33) pass attempts completed for (199) yards and (1) touchdown; November 15, 1981 vs. Falcons - (14) of (22) pass attempts complete for (253) yards and (5) touchdowns; September 19, 1982 vs. Bengals - (29) of (42) pass attempts completed for (323) yards; and image from an additional game which is not conclusively dated but likely taken on 11/1/1981 (vs. 49rs). An additional photo furnished by our consignor (16"x20" color print which will be included) is undated but shows Bradshaw in this same helmet. The facemask is currently anchored by what are presumably replacement clips at the top while remnants of an original on the right remain, and the clip on the left is missing. Signed "To Tony, Many years of great thrills and memories. Love you like family, Terry Bradshaw" in gold marker rating 7 out of 10. It is believed that the "Tony" reference was longtime Steelers equipment Manager Tony Parisi. Helmets are among the most sought after artifacts within the field of football collecting and those with solid provenance and iron clad documentation are few and far between. With regard to subject, team, and authenticity, the offered example ranks high on the list of the most desirable ever offered at auction. Includes full LOA from JSA, LOA from Hunt Auctions, and photomatch documentation from MeiGray: EX
