Description: Exceptional 1982 Franco Harris Pittsburgh Steelers professional model game used jersey - Hammered with use and team repairs (MeiGray photomatch to multiple games). Black jersey with white and gold sleeve accents has number "32" on the front, back, and shoulders. A "Harris" nameplate spans the upper back. Medalist Sand-Knit "Designed & Tailored Exclusively…" tag is on the front tail with an additional below noting size (46). Printed "82" year tag is to one side. The outline of a "50 Seasons" patch can be seen (when the jersey is turned inside out) on one shoulder. The original patch will be included and it has a piece of tape to the back with a period "32" marker notation. Among the most well used Hall of Fame football game jerseys we have handled with large team repairs throughout. A number of these allow for a definitive photomatch by MeiGray to several games including September 19, 1982 Steelers win over Bengals at Three Rivers, Harris rushed (6) times for (3) yards and had (11) receptions for (88) yards; December 5, 1982 Steelers win over Chiefs at Three Rivers, Harris rushed (18) times for (68) yards and a touchdown; January 9, 1983 Steelers vs. 49ers at Three Rivers, Harris rushed (10) times for (35) yards and had (11) receptions for (71) yards ; July 30, 1983 Steelers vs. Saints Hall of Fame Game in Canton. In addition, they cite (4) Getty Image numbers which relate to either training camp (2) or games with dates that are not specified. It has been relayed by our consignor that the Steelers have not released any other black Harris jerseys and only retain (1) within the team archive (this information can not be confirmed however we felt it of note to pass along). With regard to rarity and quality of this particular example, in our opinion the offered jersey is one of the finest Hall of Fame gamers to have entered the market. His famed number (32) has been retired by the Steelers and he remains among the most storied players in the history of their Franchise. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions and photomatch documentation from MeiGray: EX
