Description: Outstanding 1984 Mike Webster Pittsburgh Steelers professional model game used jersey - Hammered with multi-season use and team repairs (MeiGray photomatch to multiple 1986-87 games). Black jersey with white and gold sleeve accents has number "52" on the front, back, and shoulders. A "Webster" nameplate spans the upper back. Medalist Sand-Knit "Designed & Tailored Exclusively…" tag is on the front tail with an additional below noting size (48). Printed "84" year tag is to one side. Easily among the most well used Hall of Fame football game jerseys we have handled with extensive team repairs throughout. A number of these allow for a definitive photomatch by MeiGray to several games played in 1986 and 1987 including December 13, 1986 vs. Jets in New York; September 13, 1987 vs. 49ers at Three Rivers Stadium; October 18, 1987 vs. Colts at Three Rivers Stadium; October 25, 1987 vs. Bengals at Three Rivers Stadium; November 15, 1987 vs. Bengals at Three Rivers Stadium. In addition, it has been matched to an undated image of a Steelers vs. Lions game. Webster ranks among the greatest centers of All-Time and he was known as a ferocious and unrelenting competitor. He served as an absolutely vital member of the 1970s Steelers dynasty which claimed (4) Super Bowl titles having protected quarterback Terry Bradshaw for over a decade. It is hard to envision a better example of an "Iron Mike" game jersey. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions and photomatch documentation from MeiGray: EX
