Description: Very rare c.1910s "Base-Ball Fan Badge" advertising piece with Christy Mathewson inspired graphic. Heavy stock 11"x14" point of sale store display done to promote "Base-Ball Fan Badge" stick pins produced by Metropolitan Badge & Novelty Co. Central to the piece is a large image of a baseball player which fills the right hand side. While not specifically noted as depicting Christy Mathewson, it was clearly inspired by him given the New York uniform and famed "hands above head" pose." Suitable for display however there are several heavy creases/cracks (secured from behind the tape), chipping/missing pieces at corners, and some other general wear.
