Description:April 1, 1960 Mickey Mantle autographed Glenn Berry blue jeans endorsement contract (with related paperwork). Original contract, typed on two sheets of 8.5"x14" paper, is dated April 1, 1960 and signed on the second page "Mickey Mantle" in ink, rating 7/8 out of 10. It granted Glenn Berry Manufacturers, Inc. the exclusive rights to Mantle's "name, endorsement, autograph, portrait, photograph or other likeness" related to a line of overalls, dungarees, work pants/shirts/caps, and coveralls which they were to produce for a period of (3) years. Included are a number of pieces of correspondence dated from 1957 through 1960 which relate to both this deal with Glenn Berry and an earlier inquiry from Burlington Mfg. Co. (unclear if these are the same Company operating under different names but the name D.Rose, sender or recipient of some letters, is the same) to create a Mantle branded product line. Two of the letters are replies from Mantle's well known agent Frank Scott (one appears to be signed by Scott, the other is secretarial) and the group also includes one of Scott's brochures from the period (Only example we have encountered). Mantle was at the height of his popularity at the time the deal was struck and it surely proved lucrative for Glenn Berry as The Mick would be further catapulted into the public eye during the fabled 1961 season. Mild handling and storage wear throughout. Includes auction LOA from JSA: VG-EX
