In the 8th inning, with score tied 2-2 and runners in scoring position, Cleveland batter Vic Wertz hit a fly ball deep into center field. Giants outfielder Willie Mays made a spectacular over the shoulder catch to hold the Indians at bay and New York would do on to win the game and ultimately the Series. It has become one of the most celebrated fielding plays of all-time.
