Description: 1955 Bill Russell Helms Athletic Foundation College Basketball Player of the Year Award. Presentational bronze medal as issued to Russell by the Los Angeles based Helms Athletic Foundation for his outstanding play with the San Francisco Dons in 1955. The medal is mounted atop acrylic pedestal base with foundation insignia on front and engraved to Russell on the verso. 4" tall overall. The Helms Foundation College Player of the Year Award was one of the most prestigious of its type having been awarded to the player of the year annually up until 1979.
