Description: "Canton" Minor League baseball team cabinet photograph c.1887-88. Cabinet mounted sepia toned photograph showing members of the Ohio State League Canton baseball team in exceptional clarity. From the collection of Jake Virtue, whom is presumably shown, and played with the club in 1887 and 1888. Marked "Courtney…Canton, O." on the lower front with a larger logo from the Studio printed on back. In fine overall condition displaying at the EX/MT level with a very faint "1877" notation on lower front corner. There is a small strip of upper surface loss along one edge on the back along with faint notation which appears to read "Virtue 2nd row on left."
