Description: Outstanding Cal Ripken Jr autographed Baltimore Orioles professional model batting helmet c.1980s. Rare early career batting helmet done in orange, white, and black has the Orioles team logo decal applied at front. Player number "8" appears on back beside an impressed "ABC" logo. "American Baseball Cap" label inside notes the size, "7 1/8." Exceptional usage wear is evident throughout with some chipping and scuffs to exterior. Interior padding is toned from sweat and has some age related discoloration. Signed "Cal Ripken Jr" in gold marker rating 8 out of 10. The helmet was presented by Cal to a Baltimore area restaurant which he frequented and has been held by the original recipient since that time. With regard to provenance, usage characteristics, and dating period, the offered helmet is among the best to have entered the market.
