Description: Exceptional Heyer Bros. folk art painted baseball bat c.1880-1900 (37 1/2"). Superlative representation of 19th century baseball equipment in the form of a painted ring decorated baseball bat of a maroon red undercoat having mustard painted ring decoration at center brand area. "Trade Mark Heyer Bros." in black stenciled lettering remains in excellent condition positioned on the center brand. The bat is of the highest quality of the era and retains a desirable original surface patination. Bat surface has some moderate indentations and surface wear along with several small specks of vintage green paint on the barrel end.
